Village of Tuckahoe, NY

Monday and Friday:

Non-recyclable garbage, food waste, waxed cardboard, gray cardboard. Village personnel will pick this material up on your property. Garbage must be bagged for the Village to provide residents with proper service. Please have material ready by 6:30 A.M.

Tuesday:

Curbside pickup of bulk materials such as furniture, bedding, and carpets (cut to 6’ max). Small amounts of assorted debris (up to 32 gallon garbage can), dry paint cans with lids off accepted. No metals. Do not put curbside rubbish out before 8:00 P.M. the night before scheduled pick-up.

Wednesday:

Recyclable, curbside pickup, newspaper, magazines, glossy ad circular and corrugated cardboard will be collected together. Please bundle or place in an open container. Books and gray cardboards are not recyclable. In separate container place liquor bottles, wine bottles, food jars/cans, empty aerosol cans, plastic jugs and containers marked 1 and 2. Drinking glasses, china, light bulbs, window glass, oil cans, and paint cans are not included in this pick up. Do not put recyclables in plastic bags.

Thursday:

Yard waste curbside collection is from December 1 to October 14. Clippings must be placed in recycling biodegradable bags or in open marked garbage cans. Large clippings and small branches must be no more than 4-ft. in length, bundled and tied. Logs over 4 inches thick and stumps will not be collected. “Yard Waste Only” stickers are available at village yard. All metal items such as refrigerators (doors removed) water heaters, stoves, pots, pans, toasters and any metal household item.

Holiday Changes

When a holiday occurs on Monday, garbage will be picked up on Tuesday and Friday. Bulk trash and yard waste will be collected on Thursday.

When a holiday occurs on Tuesday, bulk trash and yard will be collected on Thursday.

When a holiday occurs on Wednesday, recyclable will be collected on Thursday with yard waste.

When a holiday occurs on Thursday or Friday, yard waste will be collected on Tuesday.

When a holiday occurs on Friday, garbage will be picked up on Thursday.

Recyclable paper bags are available at the following locations: Tuckahoe Village Hall, 65 Main Street - Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Tuckahoe Village Yard, 15 Marbledale Road – Monday – Friday 6:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m
