Dear Friends,
Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season to you and yours. As busy as the month is, take time to Exercise with Evey or relax with Tai Chi---both are stress reducers. Sgt. John Cuccinello of the Tuckahoe Police Department will update us on current scams, particularly those targeting the elderly. Charlene Lambrecht will join us with information about all the wonderful programs our neighbor, The Community Action Program provides.
Many, many thanks to everyone who helped or supported our Annual Bazaar in October. Part of the proceeds help fund our Bus Fund, which reduces the price of trips. On Tuesday, December 13th, we’ll enjoy the annual Christmas Luncheon Party at the Davenport Club . The entertainment will be lively and we’ll have a sing-a-long. The party is $20.00 per person for members who paid dues and purchased two Bazaar raffle books. Our center underwrites part of the cost of this luncheon. The charge is $30.00 for members who did not buy the raffle books and for nonmember guests. Honorary members(who have reached the very special age of ninety)attend as our guests. Please have your table seating arrangements to Fay Blasi and Dottie Calabro by Tuesday, December 6th at the latest.
The Song Pipers will join us on Thursday, December 8th for a festive holiday program. Maybe we’ll do the Twelve Days of Christmas singing competition again.
The Gingerbread University is our source for the Kits we’ll have to decorate the big cookies. It’s up to you to make a boy or a girl, but the order must be placed by December 1st as the cookies are made to order.
Join us on Tuesday, December 20th for a dessert buffet, sing-a-long and a visit from Santa Claus!
Please give some thought to programs, entertainment or day trips that interest you for 2012.
