Rechargeable Battery Safety & Recycling

Eastchester FD Posting

Rechargeable batteries must be recycled at designated battery recycling locations. Putting lithium-ion batteries in the trash or recycling is illegal and very dangerous.

Undamaged rechargeable batteries can be recycled at battery retailers.

Damaged rechargeable batteries must be recycled at the Westchester County Household Materials Recycling Facility (H-MRF) located at 15 Woods Road, Valhalla, NY. H-MRF is open Tuesday – Saturday, 10 a.m.-3:00 p.m. by appointment.

Non-rechargeable batteries can be disposed of with your household waste.
